DOW WORKING TO BALANCE FISHERY AT BLUE MESA RESERVOIR

Colorado Fishing News | Fishing Tackle NewsDenver, Colorado --The Colorado Department of Natural Resources' Division of Wildlife Management has officially approved the Moffitt Angling System as a legal fishing method following a review by department biologists and law enforcement officials. In a letter to Pat Moffitt, the inventor of the Moffitt Angling System, Colorado Fisheries Chief Gregory W. Gerlich wrote, "We believe this method, when used as intended, is currently legal in Colorado".

The free fishing days are set aside each year for the first full weekend in June as part of ongoing efforts by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) to introduce people to the sport of fishing.

STATE BUYS WATER FOR JOHN MARTIN RESERVOIR

Boating News | Colorado Fishing NewsHEENEY, Colo--The Colorado Division of Wildlife and U.S. Forest Service will open an additional boat ramp at Green Mountain Reservoir to accommodate boaters for the busy Memorial Day weekend. Beginning Saturday, May 23, boaters may launch from both the Heeney Marina and the Big Green boat ramps. Trained, temporary watercraft inspectors and volunteers will staff both ramps and boaters should arrive with their vessels Clean, Drained and Dry to facilitate the inspection process. The McDonald Flats Campground boat ramp will remain closed due to low water levels.
