Wildlife Projects Funded by Special Licenses

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and eight non-profit wildlife conservation organizations have selected more than $480,000 in wildlife projects that will be funded this year with proceeds from the sale of special auction and raffle hunting licenses in Colorado.

To honor the Forbes family's efforts in wildlife conservation, the Colorado Division of Wildlife recently thanked the Forbes Family for its nearly 40 years of work at the 173,000-acre Forbes-Trinchera and Forbes-Blanca Ranches in the San Luis Valley.

Wildlife Commission to Hold Workshop in Pueblo August 7

The Colorado Wildlife Commission will hold its regular August workshop in Pueblo at the Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main Street, on August 7. The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 4:30 p.m.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife has initiated a boat inspection procedure at Tarryall Reservoir along with new boating regulations to help stop the spread of Zebra Mussels, Quagga Mussels, and other aquatic nuisance species.

$1000 Reward in Trinidad Bear Shooting

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) has offered a $1,000 reward for information about a recent bear shooting in Trinidad. DOW officers want information about a 425-pound bear found dead in a yard between Colorado and Kansas Avenues Monday night.

Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Two important fisheries in southeast Colorado have more water this year as a result of agreements reached between the state and the cities of Aurora and Colorado Springs. Excess run-off from near record winter snowfall made it possible for the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) to buy water for Nee Noshe Reservoir.

MONITORING FINDS QUAGGA MUSSELS IN LAKE GRANBY

A State and Federal initiative to gather more information on the presence of invasive mussels in Colorado confirmed the detection of quagga mussel larvae in Lake Granby in July. Quagga mussels are very similar to the zebra mussels that were found last fall in Pueblo Reservoir.
