Marshall County Man Attacked by Deer, Charged with Illegal Possession

Julius Dunsmore, a resident of Marshall County, has been charged with illegally possessing seven deer, one of which attacked and severely injured him last week. When Dunsmore entered the holding pen, a large buck attacked him. In addition to numerous puncture wounds and extensive bruises, Dunsmore suffered a loss of vision in one eye.

The Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force is investigating the recovery of 25 kilograms of cocaine recovered in area waters south of the Destin East Pass.

Five local fishermen observed a large bale/package floating in the water, retrieved it from the Gulf and pulled it into their vessel. When the fisherman saw that it contained numerous individually wrapped packages, they contacted law enforcement.

A Miami man has caught and killed the longest Burmese python ever captured in Florida: 18 feet, 8 inches. The python was a 128-pound female that was not carrying eggs, according to University of Florida scientists who examined the snake. The previous record length for a Burmese python captured in the wild in Florida was 17 feet, 7 inches.
