Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina and Texas, four of the 12 participating states, are among the top ten states in terms of the impact anglers have on the nation’s economy.
Okaloosa Darter on the road to recovery

General Fishing NewsThe U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Tuesday proposed reclassifying the Okaloosa darter from the status of endangered to threatened under the Endangered Species Act, saying that the small fish is making major strides in its fight for recovery. The rule was published in Tuesday's Federal Register, and the public is invited to comment on the proposal during the next 60 days until April 5, 2010.
