The DNR is proposing to formally designate Clear Lake for wildlife management and to create a Migratory Waterfowl Sanctuary. A public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at the DNR office, 175 County Road 26 in Windom. This meeting will be an open house style meeting. DNR staff will be available to discuss proposed lake management and answer questions from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

"McAllister Lake is really on the threshold for trout in New Mexico," says Eric Frey, Northeast Area Fisheries Manager. "Because the lake is so shallow, summer heat causes marginal water quality for trout survival."
