ATHENS, Texas — In May, the Lake Fork Trophy Bass Survey continued its run as the most successful program of its kind. Since the survey began in March 2003, anglers have reported catching more than 10,000 trophy largemouth bass from the 27,000 acre reservoir. During its nearly 30-year history, anglers have braved the stumpy waters of Lake Fork in search of the fish of a lifetime- and many have been rewarded! BASS MEMBERS WILL HELP ERADICATE WEEDS ON SAM RAYBURN RESERVOIR

The Texas BASS Federation Nation is going after one of the biggest threats to fisheries: a non-native, highly invasive weed commonly known as giant salvinia.

The state BASS organization is leading a July 16 weed eradication project on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, according to Tim Cook of McQueeney, Texas, who serves as conservation director for the Texas BFN.

Lake Conroe, Texas - Texas country music legend Pat Green will headline two days of concerts at the Toyota Texas Bass Classic with a "Texas country music" performance on Saturday, October 17. Green will be joined by rising country star Zona Jones who will also perform on Saturday. On Sunday, October 18, fans will enjoy the distinct sound of country music superstar Josh Turner. Turner will be joined by another marquee act that will be announced closer to the event. The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) is the world championship of the PAA Tournament Series and will be held October 16 - 18 on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas.

ATHENS, Texas — Out of the more than 1,000 people who visited the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens on National Fishing Day June 6, 65 boys and girls entered the fishing contest.

Fishing in two divisions, age 11 and under and ages 12–17, five girls and three boys took home prizes for catching the biggest catfish.
