PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis.- The Walmart Bass Fishing League is headed to the Mississippi River at Prairie Du Chien July 30 for the fourth of five stops in the Great Lakes Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards up to $9,500 and $3,000, respectively.

Gulf Council begins to act on call for reallocation

GULFPORT, MS - The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has taken a long-awaited first step toward addressing outdated allocations between the commercial and recreational sectors in the grouper and red snapper fisheries. During its meeting this week in Gulfport, the Council voted to begin an amendment on grouper allocations, and to review red snapper allocations and transferability options at its next meeting in April.

D' Iberville, Mississippi - The Redfish Cup, the nation's premier saltwater fishing series makes its final regular-season stop at the D' Iberville Pier just north of Biloxi as part of the Redfish Jubilee Festival. The three-day fishing frenzy officially begins at 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 with the morning launch and ending with the dramatic final day weigh-in at 3 p.m. at the D' Iberville Pier on Sunday, Aug. 30 when one teams walks away with the $40,000 grand prize.

Lake Ferguson BFL Event Won By Brandon Bolton

GREENVILLE, MISSISSIPPI - Brandon Bolton of West Point, Mississippi, won the Walmart Bass Fishing League® Mississippi Division tournament on Lake Ferguson Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 20 pounds, 10 ounces. The victory earned Bolton $4,127 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Kentucky/Barkley Lakes Regional Championship in Gilbertsville, Ky., Oct. 15-17, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

MISSISSIPPI DIVISION OF BFL WILL FISH LAKE FERGUSON

GREENVILLE, Mississippi - The Mississippi Division of the $8 million Walmart Bass Fishing League® will visit Lake Ferguson in Greenville, Mississippi, June 27 for the fourth of five regular-season events. As many as 200 boaters and 200 co-anglers are expected to compete in the tournament, which will award as much as $45,000 in cash, including a top award of $6,000 in the Boater Division.

FORT MADISON, Iowa - It has never been more apparent that the Bassmaster Elite Series is a game of adjustments than it was Thursday at the Genuity River Rumble. Spoiled by the big-bass factories ofLake Guntersville and Kentucky Lake in the previous two tournaments, Elite anglers were hit with a dose of reality Thursday on the Mississippi River as many were forced to dig deep in their tackle boxes to grind out a limit. And many were unable to manage a limit on Day 1.
