Eastern Kentucky Wins College Fishing Central Division Event

TRENTON, Michigan - The Eastern Kentucky team of Jonas Ertel of London, and Tyler Moberly of Berea, Kentucky, won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Central Division event on the Detroit River Saturday with five bass weighing 17 pounds, 12 ounces. The victory earned the team $10,000 to be split between the university and the university's bass fishing club - $7,500 for the bass club and $2,500 for their school. The win also helped them advance to the Central Division Regional Championship.

DETROIT, Michigan - Mark Modrak of China Township, Michigan, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 20 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the EverStart Series Central Division on the Detroit River with a three-day total of 15 bass weighing 58 pounds, 15 ounces. For his victory, Modrak earned $32,913 and a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard motor.

The state of Michigan's lake trout regulations will change in 2011, and again in 2012. According to Indiana DNR fisheries biologist Brian Breidert for the Hoosier portion of Lake Michigan, Indiana anglers could benefit by both changes.

CHEBOYGAN, Michigan - The Michigan Division of the $8 million Walmart Bass Fishing League® will visit Burt Mullett in Cheboygan, Michigan, June 6 for the first of five regular-season events. As many as 200 boaters and 200 co-anglers are expected to compete in the tournament, which will award as much as $45,000 in cash, including a top award of $6,000 in the Boater Division.
