Barren River Big for Bean

Scottsville, Kentucky - Michael Bean of Bowling Green, Kentucky, won the Walmart Bass Fishing League® Mountain Division tournament on the Barren River Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 20 pounds, 11 ounces. The victory earned Bean $3,794 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Lake Norman Regional Championship in Lake Norman, N.C., Oct. 22-24, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

GILBERTSVILLE, Kentucky - Sam Boss of Paducah, Kentucky, won the Walmart Bass Fishing League® LBL Division tournament on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 23 pounds, 12 ounces. The victory earned Boss $4,618 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Fort Madison Regional Championship in Fort Madison, Iowa, Oct. 1-3, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

MOUNTAIN DIVISION TOURNAMENT HEADED FOR BARREN RIVER

SCOTTSVILLE, KENTUCKY- The Mountain Division of the $8 million Walmart Bass Fishing League® will visit the Barren River in Scottsville, Kentucky June 27 for the fourth of five regular-season events. As many as 200 boaters and 200 co-anglers are expected to compete in the tournament, which will award as much as $45,000 in cash, including a top award of $6,000 in the Boater Division.

MURRAY, Kentucky - Team Chevy pro Larry Nixon of Bee Branch, Arkansas, weighed in a five-bass limit that weighed 24 pounds, 3 ounces during the first day of competition at the Walmart FLW Tour event presented by Pringles on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes and ended the day with a slim 6-ounce lead. The event features anglers from all across the United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan.

BENTON, KENTUCKY - The Walmart FLW Tour presented by Pringles will stop in Benton, Kentucky, June 11-14 for the fifth tournament of the 2009 season on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes that will feature anglers from across the United States, Mexico and Japan fishing for top awards of $125,000 cash in the Pro Division and $25,000 cash in the Co-angler Division.

Benton, Kentucky - Florence, Alabama and Florence/Lauderdale Tourism will host the 2009 PAA Corporate Cup bass tournament on Pickwick Lake. The event will take place September 10 - 12, 2009. The Professional Anglers Association (PAA) will again use their one of a kind, 4 man team tournament format that encourages more companies to get intimately involved in the sport of tournament bass fishing.

Camden, Tennessee - 80 collegiate anglers representing 21 universities throughout the southeast met at Birdsong Resort in Camden, Tennessee on Saturday, May 16 to contest the Tennessee River Rumble on Kentucky Lake. This event was the final of 5 regional events sanctioned by the Association of Collegiate Anglers leading up to the 2009 BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship (CBFC) scheduled for May 25 - 29 at Lake Lewisville, Texas. Careco Multimedia's camera teams were on hand to capture the action. Coverage of the regional events and the CBFC will be featured on the collegiate bass fishing championship television series that will air on the Versus network Saturday mornings this fall.
