During the past three years an outdoor aquarium has been built along Highway 55 in Cascade.
The outdoor viewing aquarium was built to allow people to see aquatic organisms in a natural-looking setting. Educational information about fish life cycles and fish species identification is also available in a fun, entertaining setting. So what is the aquarium, and how was it constructed and funded?

Lowered chinook forecast results in season changes

A greatly reduced Chinook salmon run this year - from one half to one third of the predicted numbers - will also affect Chinook seasons in Idaho.
f&g wants comments on bear lake management plan

The 2009-2013 Bear Lake Fisheries Management Plan is a joint effort by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The two agencies share management authority for the fisheries of Bear Lake and cooperated in the development of this management plan.

A new state law requires the owner of any boat and any non-motorized vessel - canoe, kayak, raft, drift boat etc. - to buy and display an Idaho Invasive Species Fund sticker to legally launch and operate the boat in Idaho.

News fees for nonresident hunting and fishing licenses, tags and permits go into effect Friday, May 1.
Fish rules changes on hold

Current rules will stay the same through 2010, and then a new two-year rules brochure will be developed for 2011. In the meantime, Fish and Game fisheries managers will continue to take recommendations for rule changes from the public.
