Team Looper/Walters Wins IFA Redfish Event At Englewood

LIZELLA, GEORGIA - Bob Looper and Rick Walters, both of Brooksville, Florida, caught a two-redfish limit that weighed 13.23 pounds to win the 2009 IFA Redfish Tour event at Englewood, Florida, on June 27. To win the one-day event, which launched out of Stump Pass Marina, Looper and Walters bested a field of other two-angler teams to win the event, adding 200 points to their IFA Florida West Coast Division point total.

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (June 26, 2009) - Angler Terry McConnell of Toccoa, Georgia had more than just a great day of fishing on Lake Richard B. Russell on April 3, 2009 - he managed to catch a fish that tied a Georgia state record! McConnell reeled in a 63 lbs., 49 ½ -inch striped bass using a blueback herring on a baitcast rod, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division. This catch ties the current striped bass state record, which was caught from the Oconee River in 1967.

LIZELLA, GEORGIA - Mike Tindal of Dauphin Island, Alabama, and Artie Price Jr. of New Port Richey, Florida, caught a two-redfish limited that weighed 21.12 pounds to win the 2009 IFA Redfish Tour event at Bay St. Louis, Miss., on Saturday. To win the one-day event, which operated out of Bay Marina, Tindal and Price Jr. bested a field of other two-angler teams to win the event by .03 pounds, adding 200 points to their IFA Gulf Coast Division point total.

The Richmond Hill, Georgia, team of Kelley Clements, Tracy Shaw, Ellis Phillips, Michael Mosley, and Rusty Rogers, captured a 58.58 pound kingfish on day two of the South Florida event held at the Four Fish Marina inJensen Beach. Their second day smoker, coupled with the 38.87 scaled by the Mercury powered Fountain team on day one, gave the "On the Brink" a 97.45 two fish aggregate to capture the $40,000 cash prize as well as a boat load of Raymarine electronics. They also picked up an additional $10,000 cash prize in the local Francis Langford Memorial event.

To win the one-day event, which operated out of Lafitte C-Way Marina, Lindheim and Myers bested a field of other two-angler teams to win the event by more than one pound, taking the early points lead in the IFA Redfish Tour's Louisiana Division.

BUCKHEAD, GEORGIA - Dan Crowe of Winder, Georgia, won the Walmart Bass Fishing League® Bulldog Division tournament on Lake Oconee Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 18 pounds, 8 ounces. The victory earned Crowe $5,457 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Lake Seminole Regional Championship in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 22-24, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.
