To win the one-day event, which launched out of Stump Pass Marina, Looper and Walters bested a field of other two-angler teams to win the event, adding 200 points to their IFA Florida West Coast Division point total.

(June 26, 2009) - Angler Terry McConnell of Toccoa, Georgia had more than just a great day of fishing on Lake Richard B. Russell on April 3, 2009 - he managed to catch a fish that tied a Georgia state record! McConnell reeled in a 63 lbs., 49 ½ -inch striped bass using a blueback herring on a baitcast rod, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division. This catch ties the current striped bass state record, which was caught from the Oconee River in 1967.

To win the one-day event, which operated out of Lafitte C-Way Marina, Lindheim and Myers bested a field of other two-angler teams to win the event by more than one pound, taking the early points lead in the IFA Redfish Tour's Louisiana Division.
