LAKE EUFAULA LUCKY FOR CARVER

EUFAULA, Alabama - Kim Carver of Milledgeville, Georgia, won the Walmart Bass Fishing League® Bulldog Division tournament on Lake Eufaula Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 21 pounds even. The victory earned Carver $5,024 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Lake Seminole Regional Championship in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 22-24, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

GUNTERSVILLE, ALABAMA - Fish-factory Lake Guntersville is like racing on a fast track, golfing on a short municipal course or bowling with those deflecting cushions. In other words, things can get a bit easier and infinitely more entertaining. On Thursday, Todd Faircloth of Jasper, Texas, smashed 31 pounds, 0 ounces, on Guntersville to lead the Marine Formula STA-BIL Southern Challenge, edging out a host of anglers who caught 28-plus pounds.

BASS ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF INAUGURAL BASSMASTER ELITE SERIES POSTSEASON

BASS announced Wednesday that the organization will head to Alabama, the state where it was founded more than 40 years ago, for the inaugural Bassmaster Elite Series postseason. The postseason, dubbed the Toyota Trucks Championship Week and set for September 10-18, will be played out on two productive Alabama fisheries, with the first leg set for Lake Jordan out of Wetumpka and the finale, the Evan Williams Bourbon Trophy Triumph, slated for the Alabama River from Montgomery.
