Crappie USA Inc., "America's Premier National Crappie Fishing Tournament Organization" will return to Alabama's Weiss Lake "The Crappie Capital of the World" March 3, 2012. Anglers will be fishing for a 7-fish limit of crappie, which could net them a check along with the opportunity to advance to the Cabela's Crappie USA Classic, the most prestigious event in crappie fishing today. This year's classic will be held October 24th-27th, 2012 on the Barkley/Kentucky Lakes at Cadiz, Kentucky.

Luck "E" Strike Backs New Bonus Awards For Bassmaster Anglers
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Luck "E" Strike USA, continuing in 2012 as an Official Supporting Sponsor of the Bassmaster Elite Series and the three-division Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens, is doing "something extra" this season for anglers in both circuits by sponsoring two new bonus programs.

Jackson Middle School Physical Education Teacher Cindy Garrett wanted to teach her Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade girls another sport that would keep them active now and in the future. Recently, Garrett worked with Doug Darr, Aquatic Education Coordinator with the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division (WFF), to provide training in the Hooked on Fishing - Not on Drugs program (HOFNOD). While at the Clarke County school, Darr taught casting to each of the young women.

ATHENS, Ala. - The best bass anglers in the U.S. Armed Forces will gather at Lewis Smith Lake near Jasper, Alabama, from April 29-May 4, 2012, to compete in the 22nd annual Military Team Bass Championship tournament.

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. - The Walmart FLW Tour on Lake Guntersville presented by Mercury will visit Guntersville, Ala., Oct. 20-23 for the final tournament of the season. Hosted by the Marshall County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the tournament features the country's top bass anglers casting for top awards up to $125,000 cash in the Pro Division and up to $25,000 cash in the Co-angler Division.

Forty to seventy-pound amberjacks are coming to the docks every day on Alabama's Gulf Coast, and limits of flounder also are being landed daily on the Gulf State Park Pier in Gulf Shores, Alabama. "To catch the really-big amberjacks, we're fishing with live baits like pinfish, ruby-lipped grunts and any-other type of live bait we can catch." says Captain Dick Cappar of the charter boat "Traveler" (www.travelerfishingcharters.com, 251-747-1886, 251-583-6367). "Amberjacks out of Orange Beach, Ala., are loaded-up on the natural bottom as well as on the army tanks, Liberty ships, barges and boats that have been sunk to make artificial reefs. I pulled-up on one spot in mid-August where before we started fishing, 60 to 70 amberjacks came up in the water right behind the boat. Although we put out our live baits, those big jacks wouldn't eat the live bait.

Dudley, who received $100,000 for the title, joins fellow FLW Tour anglers Clark Wendlandt (2009, 2000,1997) and Jay Yelas (2007, 2002) as the only anglers to win multiple Walmart FLW Tour Angler of the Year titles. Dudley's first title came in 2008.

WETUMPKA, Ala. - They say Lake Jordan bass go deep in summer, but Casey Ashley proved on Sunday just how wrong "they" can be by winning the Ramada All-Star Semi-Final his way - in shallow water.

And while any pro likes to win - and win his way - Ashley was more impressed with the fact that he'd earned a spot in the $100,000 Evan Williams Bourbon All-Star Championship, which will begin Friday on the Alabama River out of Montgomery, Ala.
