Sportfishing Industry Calls for Major Marine Fisheries Management Changes

On Tuesday, February 23, a letter signed by the American Sportfishing Association, The Billfish Foundation, the Center for Coastal Conservation, the Coastal Conservation Association, the International Game Fish Association and the National Marine Manufacturers Association was sent to Dr. Jane Lubchenco, NOAA’s Administrator, requesting that immediate administrative action be taken to address the short- and long-term issues regarding resources for data collection and revamping our nation’s marine fisheries management system.
