Surplus Trout to be Stocked in PA Waters
Pleasant Gap, PA - Pennsylvania trout anglers will be receiving a bonus as additional adult trout are to be stocked in the Southcentral part of the state. The fish are “extras” raised at the Bellefonte State Fish Hatchery by the Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC).
The Commission stocks 3.4 million adult trout in Pennsylvania waters open to public angling. The figure includes trout produced at state hatcheries and trout obtained from the United State Fish and Wildlife Service as part of a cooperative agreement. The additional fish stockings represent a surplus from the Bellefonte Hatchery operations.
Section 2 of Middle Spring Creek in Cumberland County will receive an additional stocking of adult brown trout on Tuesday, June 9. The public is encouraged to meet at the Huntsdale State Fish Hatchery at 11:30 a.m.
On June 12, section 8 of the Quittapahilla Creek in Lebanon County will receive adult brown trout. The intersection of State Route 934 and State Route 422 in Annville will be the meeting location at 12 p.m.
