MILITARY BASS TOURNAMENT FEATURES WEEK OF CELEBRATION AND PRIZES

Alabama Fishing News

Athens, Alabama --The 19th annual Military Bass Tournament will be showered with prizes, give-aways, and vacations, according to Debra Talley, National Marketing Director for American Bass Anglers.

The Grand prize for the lucky winners will be a trip to the destination of their choice, presented by the Armed Forces Vacation Club. The eight day / seven night vacation may be taken in Hawaii, the Caribbean, or Mexico, as well as many other locations around the world.

"This will truly be a week of fun for our military", stated Talley, "No one will leave empty handed! Not only will the anglers enjoy three days of fishing on the Red River, they will also be treated to a USO Show featuring the Bama Girls USO Show Troupe and Blair Abene, Miss Louisiana.

A native of Hammond, Louisiana, Blair Abene, the reigning state titleholder, is a senior at Southeastern Louisiana University where she is seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Mass Communication. She plans to pursue a career in Music and later as a broadcast journalist. She will be the guest entertainer during the show starring the Bama Girls.

The show will be held starting at 6:30pm at the Best Western Louisiana Conference Center on Monday night, May 4th just after the military anglers enjoy a great meal at the same location. The show is a USO-type production which features songs of all types-- whether you're into pop, R&B, or country, they cover it all. The former Miss Alabamas - all entertainers - present a fast-paced, high energy, song and dance show that seems to never stop. The show is filled with lots of surprises for the all the participants in the military tournament. For anyone that has ever watched on TV, excerpts from USO Shows featuring Bob Hope, it will bring back memories of Ann Margaret and Marilyn Monroe as they crooned their own renditions of love songs to the soldiers stationed so far from home. It was a time when mail took weeks or even months to arrive and email was not even a figment of one's imagination. An audience of all ages will find something to enjoy whether it's a walk down memory lane, or the latest, hottest, most tantalizing songs being played today.

Triton Boats will offer a special salute to the armed forces with their display offering $5,000 of free accessories and custom upgrades when purchasing any Triton aluminum or fiberglass boat package. Triton has always been a huge supporter of the military. "We salute the sacrifices our military families have made in keeping America safe and strong. We want to thank them, get them on the water with their families, and get them fishing", stated Earl Bentz, Triton founder and CEO.

Several companies have donated prizes to the Military Bass Tournament, including: Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil, Anglers Advantage Insurance, Gary Yamamoto Baits, The Armed Forces Vacation Club, Cracker Barrel Restaurant and Old Country Store, Moon Pie, Gander Mountain, Hi-Seas Fishing Line, FishBelly Lures, SmartShield Sunscreen, Wingman Baits, Meyerco Knives, Rejuvanade, BioEdge Fishing Products, Early Times Whisky, and Vanndalizer Baits.
