Budweiser ShareLunker Season Ends

While this is below the long-term average of 20 fish per season, the number of spawns was above average. Two fish spawned a total of six times, producing 110,148 eggs. The average number of spawns each season is four.
Gulf Shrimp Season To Close May 15
Submitted by FishNews on Mon, 2008-05-05 15:11. General Fishing News | Outdoor News | TexasAUSTIN -- The Gulf of Mexico commercial shrimp season for both state and federal waters will close 30 minutes after sunset on Thursday, May 15 until an unspecified time in July.
The closing date is based on samples collected by the Coastal Fisheries Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) using trawl, bag seine and other information gathered from the shrimping industry.

Thunderbird: Elevation 3 ft. above normal and murky. Saugeye fair to good on jigs off points. Crappie beginning to move up to shallow water to spawn, but are just not there yet. Some are being caught on minnows and jigs on structure at 4-5 ft. White bass good on jigs and in-line spinnerbaits off points and trolling. Largemouth bass good on tandem spinnerbaits in shallow areas of warmer water around structure. Catfish slow. Report submitted by Tony Woodruff, game warden stationed in Cleveland County.
